Mini-Camp is non-residential for members 11 years and under — therefore 11 year olds have a choice of which to attend. All horses attending Camp at Askham Bryan must be vaccinated and confirmation of this has to be shown to Becci when sending in your balance in late June.
If they do not comply, they will not be allowed to stay, necessitating daily travel! Any queries about Camp attendance or vaccinations, please speak to Gill, or Becci. A big thank you to all those who helped out at the Branch Dressage Competition on 30 January.
Boxing Day hunts enjoy fine weather | York Press
We had a huge entry in all classes. Particular well done to our younger members who entered Class 1 — the first time doing a Dressage competition for many of them!
Congratulations to Sophie Gittus finishing 2nd and 3rd in this class. A chance to have a good clear out or to pick up some bargains!! Particular congratulations to Holly and Serena who have both qualified for the National Finals — Holly in the 95cms class and Serena in 1.
The trials for Dressage will be held at the dressage rally on 23 April. If you are genuinely unable to attend either of these dates, but would still like to be considered for a team, please get in touch with Gill.
Members must be regularly competing in the particular discipline at the correct height. BE 90, and Novice. This does not apply to the many Branch Team Show Jumping competitions and Junior Series Show Jumping that take place throughout the year — these are open to anyone who would like to have a go and we would like to encourage as many of you as possible to take part.
Everyone has to start somewhere!! The Area 3 Junior Show Jumping Series is running again this year and most Branch competitions include classes, with 3 heights of 60cms for 10 yrs and under, 70cms and 80cms for 12 years and under.
The first 2 teams and 6 individuals from each height class will qualify for the final, which will be in the Autumn. Any queries at all about all the above, please do get in touch with Gill — We would love as many of you as possible to have a go at something! Hats with only the standard BSEN are no longer allowed. This does include all piercings, including sleepers.
Any further info about clothing, please see the Branch website. Tack and Turnout points are given at certain Rallies during the year to go towards the annual Junior and Senior trophies.
Irish bred by Crossdrum Spurs. Attractive moving horse, with well established paces. Successfully competed at RC dressage with lady owner and hunted extensively for 5 seasons. Attended PC rallies with teenage riders — well behaved and willing.

If anyone has any queries at all about the Newsletter, particularly about teams, do get in touch.
If you are only able to hunt one day a week, we will offer you an appropriate rate. Followers mounted and otherwise are expected to contribute to the collections on those days. Here are a few thoughts and explanations. He will also let you know how much, as a Pony Club member, the Cap is.
Communications — Emergency Phone Procedure Is just that- in the event of an emergency — all hunt subscribers will be phoned. The main difficulty with this is of course if a phone is answered by an answer-phone. In this event the person leaving the message has no way of knowing when that message will be acted upon. So with all the will in the world, the system can still break down, so please bear with us.
What is an emergency? A change of meet venue A cancellation of hunting for any reason other than adverse weather The weather does not trigger the system. When you wake up on a hunting day, look out of the window.

If you cannot get any of the above, try the Masters — last, not first, please! Some Basic Hunting Etiquette; Most of us,or all of us, know what we should or should not do when riding to hounds. If the Huntsman, the Whip or those officially out on point are seen approaching at speed, please make space for them. It is much safer for you and it improves the hunting. This means, move to your right or left so that the rider can pass on your left or right.
The Field Master leads the field — you should follow him, not overtake him, nor take your own route. Many first time Pony Club members worry about their horse overtaking the Field Master — we will not send you home! If you break a fence, you will not be asked to pay, but you must report it to any of the Masters.
